More than three years after the closure of the Red Cross camp in Sangatte, northern France, NGOs are blowing the whistle. They are concerned about the humanitarian situation of asylum seekers, as there are still around five hundred migrants roaming in the nearby city of Calais. Tougher asylum laws in Britain have failed to act as a deterrent, as migrants are still making daily attempts to sneak into ferries crossing the channel.
